Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Nook ("Nook", "we", "us") governing your use of the Nook mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By downloading or using Nook, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Nook. You are responsible for your account, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account.

2. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you create on Nook (such as posts, comments, lists, and ratings). By submitting content, you grant Nook a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the Service. You are responsible for the content you post and represent that you have the rights to share it.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, abusive, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable.
• Infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
• Spam, impersonate others, or attempt to manipulate or game the Service.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.

We operate a zero-tolerance policy toward objectionable content and abusive behavior. Content may be screened automatically and reviewed by us, and we may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You can report content and block users within the app.

4. Nook Plus Subscriptions

Nook offers an optional auto-renewing subscription, Nook Plus, which removes ads and unlocks additional features such as full stats and a profile badge.

• Pricing. Nook Plus is offered at $3.99 USD per month or $24.99 USD per year (an annual plan may include a free trial). Prices may vary by region and are shown in the app at the point of purchase.
• Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-renewal. The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• Free trial. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
• Managing & canceling. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) after purchase.
• Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's refund policies; we do not directly process payments or refunds.

5. Third-Party Content

Nook displays metadata and images about movies, TV, anime, games, and books sourced from third-party providers including The Movie Database (TMDB), MyAnimeList, IGDB, and Open Library. This content belongs to its respective owners and is provided for informational purposes. Nook is not endorsed or certified by these providers.

6. Advertising

The Service is supported in part by advertising shown to users who are not Nook Plus subscribers. By using the free version of the Service, you agree to the display of such ads.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service and its users.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nook will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
